Sierra Colina Village Project
Stateline, NV
Final Environmental Impact Statement
The Environmental Impact Statement for the Sierra Colina Village project was certified by the TRPA Governing Board on June 24, 2009 and the project subsequently approved.
The Sierra Colina
Village Project is located in Stateline, NV on the mountain side of Highway 50 between Lake Village and Kahle Community Center and Park. The
project site is currently undeveloped.
The documents below are the Final and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS and DEIS) prepared by TRPA. As part of its environmental review process, TRPA prepared and circulated a Notice of Preparation (NOP) on October 4, 2006 informing responsible agencies and the public that an EIS would be prepared for the project, and soliciting comments on the scope and content of the document. Public scoping meetings were held October 17, October 24 (before the TRPA Governing Board), and November 8 (before the TRPA Advisory Planning Commission). The public scoping period ended on November
15, 2006.

This EIS was circulated for public comment for 60 days beginning August 13 and ending October 13, 2008.
During this time, TRPA held two public hearings to present the conclusions of the Draft EIS and
receive oral comments from the public and responsible agencies. After the 60-day comment period, the Final EIS
was prepared that includes comments received on the Draft EIS, written responses to comments; a list of all
persons, organizations, and agencies commenting on the Draft EIS including any necessary revisions.
Two public hearings will be scheduled to certify the Final EIS, one before the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) and one before the TRPA Governing Board. These meetings are tentatively scheduled for June 2009. Please refer to the
(Meetings and Notices) page for meeting information and to view upcoming agendas. Agendas are posted one week prior to the meeting date.
In its review of the Sierra Colina Village Project and determination for action, the TRPA Governing Board will
consider the entire environmental analysis contained in the Final EIS. The Governing Board will then decide
whether to certify the document and, in a separate action, whether to approve, deny, or conditionally approve the
project.
