Strategic Plan Objective:

Accelerate Threshold Attainment

Strategic Initiative Description:

Area Plans were created as one of the primary tools to implement the Regional Plan. They will help remake legacy land uses, bring 20 year old local land use plans up to date, and encourage streamlined one-stop-shop permitting at the local level. This initiative recognizes the need for TRPA to support and collaborate with local governments as they prepare and update these plans.

Strategic Initiative Desired Outcomes:

Adopted Area Plans that implement the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan as periodically updated, accelerate Threshold attainment, and that reflect local desires and aspirations for their communities.

Strategic Initiative General Process/Approach:

The processes that will support this initiative include TRPA staff technical assistance, and local jurisdiction guidance to solicit input and approvals from the public, local jurisdiction governing bodies, APC, RPIC, and the TRPA Governing Board.
