The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is an exciting and challenging place to work. Group Health Benefits: The Agency offers employee and dependent coverage for medical, dental and vision. The employer pays for the employee’s coverage and shares the cost of dependent coverage. TRPA offers a medical PPO and an HMO plan option through Saint Mary’s Health Plans. Dental coverage is provided through Diversified Dental and Vision Service Plan provides vision coverage.
Paid Time Off: Paid Time Off accrues at 8.31 hours per pay period
Paid Holidays: Employer provides 12 paid holidays per year.
Life: Employer paid, a $50,000 Basic Life Policy with optional dependent coverage
Short Term Disability: Employer paid coverage for replacement income when an employee is medically unable to work. Coverage is 60% of the employee’s weekly pay for a period of up to eleven weeks depending on medical condition.
Voluntary Life: Optional, employee paid, coverage of up to $100,000 per employee and $50,000 for a spouse upon medical certification.
Long Term Disability: Optional, employee paid, income replacement coverage of 60% of weekly income, upon approval, up to age 65 depending on medical certification.
Retirement Options: TRPA employees have two options for planning for their retirement. The Agency automatically contributes an amount equivalent to 8% of their compensation to a Money Purchase Pension Plan, in lieu of Social Security. In addition, employees have the option of making voluntary contributions to the TRPA 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan as either a pre-tax or Roth contribution, or, they can select a combination of pre-tax and Roth contributions.
TRPA managers and staff recognize team member accomplishments throughout the year. Employees nominate a team member for the monthly Clearly Committed Award, teams celebrate milestone accomplishments and managers recognize employees throughout the year in a variety of ways. TRPA celebrates employee accomplishments at the Annual Employee Picnic and the Annual Holiday Dinner.
TRPA encourages healthy living by promoting participation in the Annual Bike to Work Month activities, providing an Annual Health Fair, and encouraging participation in the Under Ground Gym, the weekly Pilates class or the Friday Bagua sessions. Employees also have access to online counseling services at WorkLife Matters.
